Trauma Therapy Intensives
Focused Time for Deeper Work
Trauma therapy intensives provide extended, focused sessions that allow us to dedicate more time to the therapeutic process without being limited to the traditional 50-minute session.
For some people, having additional time creates an opportunity to stay with important therapeutic work rather than having to stop just as meaningful processing is beginning. Intensives can be particularly helpful when you feel stuck, have a specific experience you want to address, or want to dedicate focused time to your healing.
What Is a Trauma Intensive?
A trauma intensive is a concentrated period of therapy designed around your individual goals and needs. Rather than spreading therapeutic work across shorter weekly sessions, we set aside extended time to focus more deeply on specific concerns.
Intensives may incorporate approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and other trauma-focused interventions, depending on your goals and what we determine is most appropriate for you.
How I Work With Intensives
I approach intensives as a collaborative process. Before beginning, we'll talk about what you hope to accomplish, identify appropriate areas of focus, and determine whether an intensive is a good fit for your needs.
During the intensive, I provide structure and guidance while remaining responsive to your experience. We can adjust the pace, approach, and focus based on what emerges during our work together.
My goal isn't to rush the therapeutic process. The additional time gives us more room to slow down, stay with meaningful material, and work intentionally toward the changes you're hoping to make.
Who Might Benefit From an Intensive?
Intensives may be appropriate for people who:
Feel stuck in patterns that haven't changed through traditional therapy
Want focused time to work on a specific traumatic or distressing experience
Have several related experiences they would like to address
Prefer a concentrated approach rather than weekly therapy
Have limited availability for ongoing weekly sessions
Want to dedicate intentional time to trauma processing and healing
An intensive isn't necessarily right for everyone. We'll discuss your goals and clinical needs first to determine whether this format is appropriate.
What Can I Expect?
Before scheduling an intensive, we'll have a consultation to discuss your goals, determine whether an intensive is appropriate, and talk about what to expect.
The intensive itself will be structured around your individual needs. Depending on your goals and treatment plan, we may incorporate EMDR, Brainspotting, preparation and resourcing, or other trauma-focused approaches.
The goal isn't simply to fit more therapy into a day. It's to create intentional space for deeper therapeutic work.
Ready to Explore a Trauma Intensive?
You don't need to know exactly what you need before reaching out. We can discuss what you're experiencing, what you'd like to change, and whether an intensive may be a good fit.
